Recently Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) made it mandatory to link employee KYC details with UAN number to avail various online facilities provided by employee provident fund organization. So every employee who is contributing towards EPF must link their kyc details like Aadhaar card number, bank account number and PAN card details with their PF UAN number. Why It Is Important To Update Employee KYC Details With UAN Number :
The main benefit of updating employee KYC details with UAN number is when an employee links his or her Aadhaar card and bank account number with PF UAN number then they can able to withdraw their PF amount online. Recently employee provident fund organization has introduced online PF claim process. In order to utilize this service it is mandatory to link kyc details with UAN number.
The second and most useful benefit is when an employee i.e EPF contributor links his or her kyc details with PF UAN number then they can able to withdraw their EPF amount with out employer attestation. In general employer attestation is mandatory for PF withdrawal, but when employee’s kyc details like bank account number and Aadhaar card number are linked with UAN number of the employee then they can withdraw EPF amount by filling EPF composite claim form aadhaar, this form doesn’t need employer attestation. Otherwise, employer attestation is compulsory to withdraw their EPF amount.
How To Link KYC Details With PF UAN Number In Online :
There are two ways to link Employee KYC details with PF UAN number. One is by employees, here employee can update their KYC details in their own in uan member portal. Other method is by employer, here employer will link employee kyc details in employer PF portal.

How To Link KYC Details With PF UAN Number Or How To Update KYC Details In UAN MEMBER PORTAL By Employee :
If employees wants to link their kyc details in their own then they can link their KYC details in uan member portal. For that they need to login to uan member website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ ( copy this link and paste in search bar of your browser ). Here employee need to enter their UAN number and UAN portal password. If you were not activated your UAN number till now then you activate your UAN number and then log in.
After login to uan member portal, you can find an option called Manage in the primary menu bar of uan portal. In that click on KYC which will appears in sub menu of Manage.
When we click on KYC then we will find a list of KYC documents which we have to link with UAN member portal. Here we need to enter our Aadhaar card number, Bank account number & IFSC code and PAN card number, These details are enough in most of the cases. After updating all the required details click on save.
After clicking on save these linked KYC details will be appeared in Pending KYC section, which appears just below the list of KYC documents which you have updated. Now your employer will find this details in their employer portal, now it is the responsibility of your employer to approve employee’s kyc details with their digital signature.
Note : It is not possible to approve KYC details of employees in their own, it has to be done by only employer with their digital signature in employer EPF portal.
How To Link KYC Details With PF UAN Number Or How To Update Employee KYC Details With PF UAN Number By Employer :
The employer can also able to link employee kyc details with uan number of employee, they will do this process in employer E Sewa Portal. In order to update KYC details of employee in employer EPF portal first, they need to login to EPF E Sewa Portal or Employer Portal https://unifiedportal-emp.epfindia.gov.in/epfo/ with their user id and password.
After login click on Member Profile which will present in Member option in the primary menu bar of employer e sewa portal.
When employer clicks on member profile, employer needs to enter UAN number of PF number of the employee. Once they enter those details that particular employee profile will be appear on the screen. Here they need to click on KYC and enter required kyc details like Aadhaar card number, PAN number and Bank account number of employee and click on Save.
Once employer clicks on Save then the PDF file of that particular employee will appear in Approve KYC Pending For Digital Signature section, which will appear under Manage option in the primary menu bar of employer e sewa portal. Here employer needs to approve pending KYC with their digital signature.
